Things We Wish For... Part 1.

Doesn't Queen's Court do something like this?
Yes. In fact I forgot about QC's game section before writing that :o.
Still, having an old games archive at RM.net would let us do stuff that FD can't necessarily do, like user reviews. Ours wouldn't be a carbon copy of his list either, as FD puts up old games (good, bad, and average included) and we'd just put up old games that are very good or very memorable for some folks.
But yeah, QC's games downloads pretty much limits the need for this at RM.net, kinda like how we don't have a resources section when Phylomortis, GW, and Charax.ex already do that very well.
The Great Console Count
Game Boy Advance Micro.
Nintendo Developer's System.
PlayStation 2.
I mostly play the DS or PC games when I play at all :).

Games you've been neglecting... (The Pile of Shame)

Shadows of the Collosus :'(
Haha, me too. I got halfway through and stopped... I lost interest when I had to keep checking FAQs for a strategy for every colossus I found :P.
Apart from that... Oblivion. But I had to stop playing the game because I'm at the Castle Skingrad and the game crashes every time the Count enters the main room. A huge bummer, because I spent hours beating the Arena, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood quests prior to trying the main quest :(.
Games you think should be on RMN
Ha ha, yeah. The Most Stupidest Game Ever (Re-Duh) was pretty funny, I appreciated the multiple endings.
Things We Wish For... Part 1.
I want a subsection of Games titled the Archive or something similar.
Normally for a game to be added to RMN it is required that the author add it himself or gives permission for the game to be added. But this isn't really possible when the games are so old that the creators have left gamemaking entirely and it isn't possible to communicate with them.
Still, their old games are in demand by both older members who remember them and newer members who want to know what the fuss is about. My suggestion is to create the game archive where the rule requiring author permission is lifted, although all games must be at least 2 years old to be added, and a genuine attempt must be made to contact the author via e-mail as well as PMs on websites they frequented the most. If and when the author responds, the game can either be moved to the main games section or removed from the website.
It seems a little unethical to do this, but I gave suggestions to do this the most fair way. It would be a big service to the members. Just like regular games, getting games into the Archive will be the responsibility of members, not staffers.

I mean games we'd like to see here. We are trying to always get permission before adding others' games. That means it'll be harder to add older 'classic' games whose creators have left gamemaking entirely, unfortunately. One solution WIP talked about at one point was creating a 'classic games' page full of indie games that are over 2 or 3 years old, but I'm not sure that'll be necessary anymore since there won't be scored staff reviews at RMN.
And yeah, your game suggestions are good too :). Good luck getting ahold of SpoonyBard though, he'll probably show up in a year or two in a random post at GW :x. And I honestly don't even remember the name of the guy who made FM. It'd be nice if we could create a classic games archive with older games like these where we could add games made by people who are permanently out of touch. When we finally reached the creators, if ever, we could move their games to the regular directory (or remove them from the site if they don't like us!!)
Anyways, an update. Styles is going to register and add L&W, and LunC gave permission to add the Way. I e-mailed gibmaker and am waiting for a response from him too.

Another Question...
author=Erave link=topic=65.msg1242#msg1242 date=1183068818YES! I plan to be really busy over the next 2-3 weeks but I'll try running into you on IRC, or else I'll be around more towards the end of July and beginning of August. Easy Macs 1 & 2 were fun, there ought to be a third one :).
Mr. Y: Nice to see ya! We should collaborate some more and come up with a plot to Easy Mac 3, eh eh?
Games you think should be on RMN
I was going to try looking up and PMing or e-mailing people to get permission to add their games to RMN, but it turns out that this is pretty difficult nowadays when the gamemaking community is fractured, lots of people have moved on, and the GW website is in many ways broken.
So instead, I'm going to write down some games' names and their creators. If you know any of these games' developers, or you know where they hang out on the web nowadays, just post it in the topic. Also, if you can think of any other games that should be on RMN and aren't yet, post them too! Remember, RMN is coded by WIP but its content is driven by the members, not staffers.
So here's the list of games we'd like to add to RMN. Bear in mind that we want to contact the authors and get their permission to add their games to RMN. We can't just go uploading it on the site because somebody has the game on their computer.

Back from the grave, for now...
What's up Maggy! Nice to see you post. I've become a spook now too, showing up when I'm not too busy... anyways, I just tried going to War of the Magi and the forums are broken. Is the site really dead like Fighter said though?
